The social network “VKontakte” plans to sell audiobooks, writes Booksnt, citing sources in the book market.
At the end of May “VKontakte” will launch a service for the sale of audiobooks. The partner of the project is Biblio LLC, and its co-founder is Ilya Korotikhin, founder of the online service for copyright registration “Bank of Rights”. The new Biblio service is already available on the social networking site in test mode. According to Korotikhin, it will contain more than ten thousand works. “Biblio” has already signed distribution agreements with “Alpina Publisher”, “Audiokniga” and “Soyuz”, and is also in talks with Russia’s largest publishing group “Eksmo-AST” and other rights holders. It is expected that the cost of an unlimited subscription to the service for users of “Vkontakte” will be 299 rubles a month. There will also be a one-time purchase of audiobooks. It will be possible to pay for orders via VK Pay.
