At the beginning of spring, on the eve of International Day on March 8, we celebrate another holiday. March 3, the world celebrates International Writer’s Day
The beginning of the holiday was laid by members of the PEN club of writers and journalists. It was founded by English writers John Galsworthy and Catherine Amy Dawson-Scott. The name of the association is an analogue of the English “pen” and at the same time an abbreviation for the words poets, essayists, novelists – “poets, essayists, novelists.” At the 48th Congress in 1986, club members proposed to consider March 3 as Writer’s Day, and the holiday was entrenched at the international level.
