The great era of modern drama began with the public competitions of poets and philosophers held in ancient Greece. The names of Aeschylus and Sophocles are known to schoolchildren and playwrights alike. We know and admire their works. They are interesting despite the centuries that have passed. Years later, authors of the 17th and 19th centuries have joined the high style of presentation. We all know the works of Shakespeare, who created his immortal creations such as Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. But particularly strong works were created by domestic authors. Of course, the author who writes plays expects his creation to be staged in the theater, but some works have become classics of Russian literature and have taken their high place among the works written in other genres. Surprisingly, even in our time there are authors who write their works in verse form. Such authors include Sergei Timokhov, who writes his plays under the pseudonym Nikita T.
