In the face of severe budget shortages, the State found funds for culture.
The Government has approved a regulation on the federal register of objects of Russia’s intangible ethnocultural patrimony. The decree on the procedure for its formation and maintenance was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. “Russia will have a federal register of objects of intangible ethno-cultural patrimony – fairy tales, bylinas, dances, rituals, crafts, traditions and customs,” the press service of the Cabinet said in a statement. The register will contain data on the keepers and carriers of original traditional culture, the origin of the object, the location of its existence. The Cabinet noted that the creation of an information resource, which will be publicly available, will simplify the study and use of intangible ethno-cultural heritage, as well as its preservation and popularization. The Ministry of Culture will be the operator of the register. The resolution has been prepared to implement the norms of the Federal Law “On Intangible Ethnocultural Heritage of the Russian Federation” adopted in October 2022
