A few principles I adhere to when I write or promote my books:
- Write about what you know about. If you don’t know something, you need to research it before you start writing a book;
- If for some reason you don’t want to write, it’s better not to. Then you have to rewrite it later anyway;
- it is desirable to reread with fresh brain what you wrote the day before, in order to correct the text;
- If you have friends who you trust and who are more literate than you, give them your work to proofread. Don’t be afraid of appearing stupid or illiterate. It is better to correct mistakes beforehand;
- Try to exchange reviews with those authors whose work you like. In any case, writing reviews develops critical thinking, and this is useful;
- At least once publish a paper book to understand how your work looks on paper and let your friends and acquaintances read it;
- Post your books on venues that have a friendly atmosphere and where writers have the same problem as you;
- 8. Only enter contests that can be of real use, there’s no point in entering non-core events or contests where the outcome is known in advance;
- Try to write a variety of works. It is useful to try writing in different literary genres from time to time;
- Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. He who does nothing, does not make mistakes. But try to reduce their number over time.
